Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was one of the names who gave a speech at the USAK Hall. Many respected scientists, diplomats, experts and journalists also attended his conference. Prior to the conference, Prime Minister Erdoğan toured the new building and received information from the stakeholders, and praised the work of USAK. USAK House. It is Turkey's first building built for the purpose of a think tank. Its construction was completed in 2010 and its opening was made by the President of the Republic of Turkey. The building is known as the USAK House. There are 60 researchers and employees in the building.

Uluslararası Stratejik Araştırmalar Kurumu (USAK) 24 Şubat 2011 Perşembe günü, Ankara'daki merkezinde Türkiye ve İsrail arasında yaşanan gelişmelerin ve çıkmaza giren ilişkilerin geleceğinin tartışıldığı uluslararası bir konferans düzenledi... Dört oturum halinde gerçekleştirilen konferansa İsrail’den Ulusal Güvenlik Çalışmaları Enstitüsü Başkanı Dr. Oded Eran, Moshe Dayan Ortadoğu Araştırmaları Merkezi’nden Prof. Dr. Ofra Bengio, Haaretz Gazetesi Ortadoğu İlişkileri Analisti Dr. Zvi Bar’el gibi isimler; Türkiye’den ise USAK Genel Koordinatörü Prof. Dr. Sedat Laçiner, Milliyet Gazetesi yazarı Kadri Gürsel,  Bilkent Üniversitesi’nden Doç. Dr. Ersel Aydınlı gibi gazeteci ve akademisyenler katıldı.






Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi Yakın Doğu Enstitüsü (YDE) ve Uluslararası Stratejik Araştırmalar Kurumu’nun (USAK) Ankara’da USAK Evi Konfrenas Salonu'nda birlikte düzenlediği “Kıbrıs Sorununun Çözümüne İlişkin Alternatif Senaryolar” başlıklı bütünleşik konferans ve çalıştayda Kıbrıs’ta iki toplum arasında süren müzakerelerde çözüm ve çözümsüzlük senaryoları uzmanlarca tartışıldı. Ekonomiden Sorumlu eski Devlet Bakanı Masum Türker, USAK'ta konuştu, Türk ekonomisinin durumunu masaya yatırdı. Oturuma USAK Başkanı Prof. Dr. Sedat Laçiner başkanlık yaptı. Turkey Earthquake: What We Learned, What Should We Do?

By Sedat LAÇİNER, PhD It is not the first time that Turkey has faced an earthquake disaster...  Earthquake, like rain, like snow; a fact of Turkish lands... one of the most common events we encounter in our daily lives... Almost all of our lands are on fault lines and tens of thousands of earthquakes are recorded every year in our country... An earthquake of magnitude 4 and above happens almost every day... According to earthquake records, there have been at least 23 earthquakes with a magnitude of 7 and above in our lands since the 1500s. In other words, there have been approximately 5 major earthquakes every 100 years, which causes a major earthquake on average every 20 years. Moreover, some of them are earthquakes that cause great loss of life.
